Grandma’s House
Brownies,
Books,
Stick-on tattoos,
Quarters,
Rides,
Hours at the zoo,
Snuggles,
Scoops,
Baths without shampoo—
Mama says one,
Grandma says two!
Guess where we are this week?

Love the surprise at the end — so true! Lorenzo and Claudio are spoiled rotten by the “nonni” – but I guess they’re just doing their job. 🙂
So much to love in this poem. I like the rhythm and the surprise at the end, though, of course, it is not really a surprise!!!
Very nice, Liz! Reminds me of my own grandma and the fun we had on overnights.
You’ve captured such a lot in such a few words! Love it, Liz. reminds me of my own doting Grandma who had so much time for us. Your last line is priceless!
That’s adorable, Liz! Have a wonderful day.
Grandma’s are the best! “baths without shampoo” – too funny! You’ve captured that special bond. Excellent poem, Liz! =)
Baths without shampoo is a special favorite of mine too.
Precious grandma poem. I’m not there yet, but look forward to it.
Hooray for Grandmas – they always get it right.
Love those last two lines! That’s the essence of grandparenthood, isn’t it?
Thanks for sharing this poem, Elizabeth, and for your kind words. You sum up what it’s like to spend time with Grandma:
“Mama says one,
Grandma says two!” : ) Sounds like you’re enjoying time with your mother–a role model for all Grandmas!
Heee! Really great terseness in this and I agree about the last lines. Duncan goes off to spend three days with the gp’s tonight; I’ll send this with them.
I didn’t have much time to reply on Friday since we were busy visiting Grandma. So here’s a belated thanks for visiting and for all your kind words.
“Mama says one,/Grandma says two!” Oh yeah. Makes me glad she only comes to visit once in awhile… otherwise that might get on my nerves 😉 Love the heart in this poem, Liz.
