Some things about me:
I have worked as a shoe salesman, short order cook, high school English teacher, and college writing instructor.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.
I am a middle child. I have an older brother and a younger sister.
My favorite color is blue.
I wrote my first book in 4th grade. I don’t remember the title, but I do remember that it was a catalog of fairies.
My favorite food is a fresh, ripe strawberry.
I have one husband, two pets, and three kids.
My cat is named for Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird.
I live in Washington, D.C.
I write poetry nearly every day.
