This New Year
Old days
Pile up, clutter
The calendar with ink,
Leaving us with nothing but this
New Year.
I hope you are all having a lovely holiday.

That calendar is fascinating. Your poem speaks to me — always a relief when there is a blank day on the calendar, not so filled up with to-dos. Have a wonderful new year!
Beautiful cinquain, Liz.
And, of course, I love that 300-year-old calendar page you found!
Happy, creative New Year to you!
Really like this, Liz! The cinquain form works well for the subject, too.
Love it, Liz. Perfect cinquain for the transition from old to new year. Where did you find that calendar??
Thanks everyone for stopping by. It feels especially good to hear from my poetry family this time of year.
The calendar is from Wiki media. If you click on the caption it will take you there.
Liz
I love new calendars — new years, months, even days!
It’s lovely to look upon some days that open up for us. Thank you Liz for the calendar & link too. Just think, all those years ago, someone looked upon that page.
I love this post and all the accompanying comments as well. I agree, such an interesting image. Old always leading us to new. Nice.
