It’s National Haiku Day so of course I wanted to write and post a few haiku. Perhaps you’re wondering how the photo connects to the poems. Whenever I go for walks, I take pictures of anything that catches my eye. Later, if I’m not sure what to write about, I look at my photos for inspiration.

I know you’ve already been featured in Limerick Alley, Liz, but I’m really going to have to insist… ask really nicely that you come pay a visit to Haiku Garden too! (Pleeeeeese?) “Spring sun” is my favorite of these.

I too take pictures, still have some with snow, but holding back because so many are quite tired of seeing snow! Love these, Liz, and like others, “the fence blossoms/with coats”. I’ve been trying to improve my writing of haiku, and missed today’s celebration. Thank you for the reminder!

One of these days, I hope we can take another poem-inspiring nature walk somewhere! I still remember all those bright little lizards at Highlights – and the spiders. :0) Thanks for sharing these poems to celebrate Haiku Day; makes me relax a little that I didn’t get a post up for that this year!

That fence blossoming with coats is what happens during spring recesses. Teachers insist on coats; kids fling them off as soon as possible!
