Spring Fever
Spring Fever
See the grasses waving?
Hear the robins raving?
See the chipmunks hopping?
Smell the redbuds popping?
See the tulips swooning?
Hear the sparrows crooning?
See the pansies mugging?
Feel the sunlight tugging?
I don’t care if there’s a rule—
This is not a day for school!
No one actually asked me if they could skip school today, but if they had…
Happy Poetry Friday!

Delightful, Liz. I especially love this couplet: “See the pansies mugging?/Feel the sunlight tugging?” Yes and yes.
Love that surprise combination of “sunlight” and “tugging”! I certainly have spring fever reading this. :0)
How did I miss this? I wish I had read it yesterday, cloudy but lovely in all the blooming was “tugging”. Today, snow, & I’m back inside again except for clearing off the trees whose limbs are hanging low. Happy Saturday!
Pansies MUGGING! So simply perfect! They DO mug!
Keep the hooky poems coming…it’s spring!
