November Morning Glories
Discarded leaves disgrace the lawn.
The sky grows pale and sighs.
Above the unmade garden beds,
the morning glory shines.
Feeling a little Emily Dickinson-ish today.

Gorgeous words… gorgeous photo. Nice to see those beauties smiling! 🙂
Funny that you say that. I went back and forth with the last word between shines and smiles.
Love this. Above unmade garden beds certainly describes mine. Morning glories shine!
So lovely– morning glories are one of my favorites.
The blue morning glory is my favorite color.
terrific, Liz. I especially like the sounds of discarded/disgrace and sighs/shines (and I’m jealous that you have anything blooming in November!)
Hard to believe that they’re still blooming. How lovely that you wrote about them. This is beautiful Liz, love each line.
Lovely. I especially like the unmade garden bed.
Thank you! They really looks strangely out of place this time of year. Everything else is a mess but they keep blooming. Probably not for much longer.
I can see the Emily D connection, Liz. Love it! Can’t pick a favorite.
Your line “unmade garden bed” shines bright! Morning glories are one of my favorite flowers. Thanks for the smile, Liz. =)
