A Poem for Your Pocket
A Small Poem
Sit in the grass.
Look at the sky.
Smell a red tulip.
Hear the wind sigh.
Stop for an ant.
Watch it scurry away.
Thank our fine earth
for another new day.
I’m a little late for poem-in-your-pocket day, but here you have it, something to carry with you on any day.
Happy Day 20 of National Poetry Month!
Liz
It may be late for Poem in your pocket day, but early for Earth Day (I think)! A delightful, pocket-sized poem. Poems come in all shapes and sizes, is what I always told my students.
Thank you!
Thanks, Barbara! I think I may end up posting three Earth Day poems. Look for another one tomorrow. : )
Sweet poem, Liz! I like the slow pace of mindful living you share here and how it engenders gratitude.
