Tired Trees

I wrote this cinquain in response to Carol Varsalona’s invitation to contribute to her gallery Autumn Ablaze. Carol’s galleries are always full of gorgeous images and provocative language. Thank you, Carol for your inspiration and for your regular celebrations of poetry, community, and life.

Perhaps we should have a cinquain party, Liz? This is a beautiful connection with the trees, those crumples are everywhere here, too!

Ooh, this is nice — it reminds me of the work of poets as well… sometimes, one simply must fling it on the floor and lay one’s head down!

Oh my goodness, but NaNoWriMo is making me feel just like those trees. Thank goodness for poetry friday, winging me sympathy in the season. Now I’ll smile at all those leaves as I rake.
