the open heart
inside the shell
black walnut

the torn wing
of a butterfly—
evening chill

everything
I’ll never see…
sowing seeds

Thanks, Rosi, sometimes I really have to sweat them out and put in the hours and agonize and other times they seem to fall from the trees and I just have to notice them and carry them home.

These are perfect. Like fall leaves. Thank you. And I love what you wrote to Rosi too… Happy Poetry Friday, friend. xo

Love that you were inspired by the picture, Liz. I like them all, & they made me stop to think! I love that last one, “everything/I’ll never see/…sowing seeds”. Seeds are so magical, & beneath the earth, do that special thing, grow, a miracle every time.

I, too, like the third one. It implies a trust–a trust there will be growth, even if I’m not around to see it.
